| Skiing into Sawbuck Acres March 2009 |
The spring began as any other....melting snow, spring runoff, green up and warm up. Projects started for serious in June and July. My brother Norman came for a visit from Indiana and helped us put pine siding on the guest cabin and mill some lumber for fascia and trim. And of course, my daughter Jodi and grandkids joined in the fun.
Well, most of us were having fun... |

After giving our little cabin a face lift we decided on our next project.....the outhouse. Given this outbuilding was a well visited and important place in sad need of an update, we began the outhouse remodel in August.
| The first improvements....2006 |
If you remember, the old outhouse looked like this.....and this was the new 2006 version. We just didn't take a picture of the earliest outhouse, used until 2005, as it wasn't very photogenic (three half sides of delamenated plywood, no door, and barely a roof).

| And we called in the big guns! |
WE ALSO....
| Drove the tractor... |
| Built a retaining wall, boat shed, and refinished the driveway. |
AND In October and November we...
Worked on furniture for mom... |
Started our sauna... |
| Hooked up the internet... |
| And, before we quit for the year, added a security camera. |
Whew....so ended the year of 2009 with so much accomplished. Spring 2010 would rapidly approach and we would live on Sawbuck Acres in our retirement. For now, we were content knowing we could look at our security camera online and watch our place. We also had email and text notification if the camera detected movement and we could turn on audio. ....Back to Missoula we trooped but before we go....
